Collection - Final

Here are the final photos for this project Collection. I stuck all of my stickers onto a white wall. I wish I had more stickers. It would look a lot better.
I decided that I would model for this photo shoot, and including Bella, a friend of mine, because her style is suited in this shoot too. Here are the final photographs.

For presentation this is how I displayed my work. I like how messy it looks. This is how my room looks like too.

I loved this project a lot, I just hoped that I have more time and materials to create 3D props and not just a backdrop. Hopefully I will be able to develop this project more and move away from 2D.

Collection

I was hanging out with my friends one night outside Sainsburys. I got really bored and I started doodling on a piece of rubbish that I picked up on the floor. I also burnt it a bit just to experiment, and to kill time. That took me less than 10 minutes to do.

Here are a few things that I took inspiration from.

My laptop

and my pencil case.

These are a few things I've 'customized' myself but never really took clear notice of it until my tutor suggested that it looks interesting, and that I should develop this image. So I decided that I should make a backdrop of a collage of giant stickers.

Here are some free-handed drawings and paintings that I did. These pieces are huge, I tried to finish them fast just by outlining it and shading them. However, it got really dull and I had to add in some colour. That took up most of my time.

I used acrylic paint and also markers.

These are the smaller scaled 'stickers' that I've drawn. I enlarged them and printed them off on printers.

Collection

We were told to bring in something that we collect. I've always been collecting stickers so I brought in a part of my sticker collection.

We had to create props and things based on what we brought in. I had a hard time creating these items because stickers are very graphical. However I managed to create something and here they are.

Moving along, I was able to create this thing using print out of my stickers. I think it will be interesting if this is made into a runway or just a set for photographs. This triggered the idea of making giant stickers, which can also look like posters at the same time, but a bit different I guess, because of the cutting and trimming around the graphic itself.

It will be a lot of fun creating this set, but materials are limited, and also the time.

Fashion and Textiles- Group work

Today we were divided into small groups and were told to have different jobs to create a whole fashion crew with promoters, fashion designers, textiles designers etc. We were chosen to 'work' with Prada. I'm responsible for womenswear. We were cooperating really well, there weren't arguments and we were really happy about each others ideas. I'm really excited to start working and designing, I'm hoping that they will like my designs. If not hopefully we will come to some agreements and have some suitable changes if needed.

Fashion Development

We were told to create a shape randomly, I chose a diamond shape. We had to incorporate this shape into clothings and here are a few quick sketches of my ideas.
Collars

(couldn't flip it around for some reason)
Sleeves and pockets.

Skirts

(couldn't flip it around for some reason.)
Trousers.

Jackets.

Then we had to choose 5 designs to develop.

Personal Objects

This pendent is very important to me. It's a pentacle with a dragon. It was my best friend's gift to me for my birthday 2 years ago, ever since then I've been wearing it and rarely taking it off.
Study

Creating a pattern

This one is my favourite. I like how it looks cartoon-ish.

On sewing machine. I would have done more if I have more time.

Photoshop

Creating pattern

I really hated photoshop before I started. I've tried a several times on it but I did not understand any of it. But after these two lessons of photoshop, it made me like it more.
It was quite frustrating trying to follow the procedures, but I tried not to ask too many questions and see if I can find my way of doing photoshopping. This made me remember more of the procedures and steps. Now I feel more comfortable trying out new tools.
Here are 3 patterns I created

Here are 3 pieces that I created by combining the patterns to garments. I was shocked when I succeeded because I think some of them looked good and that they turned out really well.

This is my favourite one.

Styling Photoshoot

I chose my friend Will Walker to be my model. He had modeled  for me for a drag photoshoot, I really like how he looked and I think it'll be a nice idea to just capture how he looks like normally, or how he wants to look like. This photo shoot is supposed to be about me, but Will has been the closest male friend I've ever had and our lifestyle is very similar. So I thought it'll be amazing to inject something else onto his look to push forward the normality of both of us, so our dream selves will live in the photograph.

Will and I love the Sex Pistols. We adore Sid and Nancy more. I always thought that Will looks like Sid, so I took inspiration from that.

Everything was done by me, apart from modelling.

Here are the chosen shots.

Photo taken in his room. I purposely left it messy as it is. I always think that bedroom is a very personal space. You can always tell the personality, hobbies, lifestyle etc of a person from looking at their bedroom.

Brick Wall in Camden

My favourite shoot

Will and I was walking around Camden. We saw this vintage leather jacket, Will wanted to get it because it was only 10 pounds. So I thought we might as well model that jacket.

Fashion & Textiles - Styling

Styling is one of my favourite thing to do, especially styling on other people. It always excites me to see my clothes being worn by other people. Today I brought in these things- A vintage PVC bomber jacket, my favourite PVC corset, fishnet maxi skirt and A LOT of makeup.
