Collage

Today I did a few collages and put them together ready to be presented. I used magazines and photocopies of fabrics that I have. I loved doing this it was fun and it definitely helped me to develop my ideas in the most random ways. Some of them doesn't make sense, but I like them the most because I know there would be a lot of inspirations that I can take in and develop.

At first I started creating a more 'wearable' looks, then I thought to myself that this is not good enough, so I started using random images that I can find in magazines to make me step away from the conventional constructions. My favourite is the lipstick dress. I don't like how it looks but I love it that it's crazy and that I've made something very different from what I would normally create.

I liked doing this a lot. It is a fast way to generate ideas and new shapes. I just think that I could be more creative while doing this ( like the lipstick dress), not using a real model but creating silhouette using random shapes and things that I've cut out.

20 looks

Today I cut up a few pieces of clothing that I own and reconstructed them into 20 completely different pieces of garments. I didn't have any problem creating this, I actually really enjoyed it, apart from the fact that I wasn't feeling too well that day. It affected my working speed and such.

Surprisingly, I used a lot of colours and patterns in this project. I personally love black so much I wouldn't really go for these pieces of clothing. However I find it exciting and fun to play with. It was a bit confusing to use stripes (candy cane pattern) at first, but I think I got hold of it and it came out quite good. I'm very happy about what I've made today.

This last look had inspired me the most, but I didn't like the colour. So I cut up another grey tartan shirt of mine and use that instead.

Today we were playing around with pieces of clothing and looking at their pattern. Here are the looks that Bella and I came up with.

A maxi dress turned into a cloak

A shirt turned into a bandana/ headscarf

Triple collars.

Clothes that I bought in. I didn't want to cut up a few of them so I chose to use something else.

In the end I have chose to cut a few ones that I rarely wear. It was very hard to decide as I didn't want to spend money on buying second hand clothings.
